Volunteers meet The King and Queen at the Eden Project

20.03.26

Representatives from Clean Cornwall and two of Cornwall's dedicated litter picking groups attended a special event at the Eden Project, where they had the opportunity to meet His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen.

Emily and Amelia from Clean Cornwall were joined by volunteers from Bodmin Tidy It Team and St Austell Tidy Up Team as part of a celebration of community action and volunteering. During the visit, they were able to speak directly with King Charles about litter, waste and the importance of protecting our environment.

It was great to see the work of Cornwall's litter picking volunteers recognised in this way. Across Cornwall, volunteers give their time, energy and commitment to help keep communities clean, cared for and welcoming for everyone.

The visit also marked the launch of The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out, national initiatives led by the Eden Project that celebrate the power of communities coming together to make a positive difference.

Between 5th and 8th June, communities across Cornwall will be taking part in Big Lunch litter picks, combining environmental action with opportunities to connect with neighbours and friends.
