Blue Litter Project relaunches across Cornwall
01.01.26
Clean Cornwall has relaunched the Blue Litter Project, a Cornwall-wide initiative focused on preventing, recording and removing marine litter from Cornwall's coastline and inshore waters.
Building on the success and learning from the project's first phase, this new chapter introduces updated equipment, improved data collection methods and greater opportunities for coastal communities, organisations and businesses to get involved.
Marine litter continues to pose a significant threat to Cornwall's coastal environment, wildlife and marine ecosystems. By gathering better data and supporting practical action on the ground and at sea, the Blue Litter Project aims to build a clearer understanding of where litter is accumulating and how it can be tackled more effectively at source.
As part of the relaunch, participants can now access a simple online data recording form, making it easier than ever to report marine litter findings. New land-based and at-sea equipment will also be available to support volunteers, community groups, boat operators and organisations working in coastal and tidal environments.
Whether you regularly work along the coast, spend time on the water, or simply want to contribute occasional observations, every piece of data helps strengthen the evidence needed to drive long-term change.
