In association with St Austell Brewery and Surfers Against Sewage we are taking the battle against littering to the next level with Turn on the Tap, a countywide free water refill campaign.

Bude Beach Care Refill Scheme   TOTT Location

Inspired by the original and popular Bude Beach Care Refill scheme, Turn on the Tap works with the support of local businesses like St Austell Brewery who display Turn on the Tap window stickers in their pubs, inns and hotels across Cornwall. The sticker informs passers-by that they are very welcome to come in and refill their own flasks or water bottles with free tap water.

If you are a business and would like to become a Turn on the Tap location then we would love to hear from you. The more businesses that join in, the more places people can refill. Help us to cover our map of Cornwall with Turn on the Tap flasks.

On average 60* (500ml) plastic bottles are bought by each person in the UK each year*. Imagine if we used a flask instead. If just 1000 of us decided to make this change we could divert 60,000 bottles from bins and our local environment.

Moving away from plastic water bottles is a change of habit that will help to stop litter in Cornwall and perhaps encourage more of use to think about how we consume single use plastic. If you need some ideas about other ways to reduce plastic then here are a few suggestions.
